I took a half day off from work yesterday to mount my transducer for the LX-5 to the boat. Well of course that meant I needed a half day today also
I was on the water by 12:15 I found some saugers miles south of the dam stacked up on the edge of the main channel. There was also a current seam caused by a sand point. I was pulling a three way up river using 4 ounces of lead on a 13” drop with a 3 foot leader to a #7 Blue/silver Floating rapala.
The LX-5 worked great for following the edge. The fish I found were in 25FOW. I also caught some short eyes, and 2 big sheepies that hammered the rapala with authority
I kept five, 15-16 inch male sauger and this female pushing 18.5. inches. The saugers must be on the verge of spawning. The males made a mess out of my cooler
Water temp is 43 degrees and the flow is not bad.
Good luck fishing people
