I finaly have a few days off of work and plan to hit Alma on Tursday, Friday and Sat. The expected rain my play a part in our approach. I have little exper. fishing the sping in the rain. Wold the shallow pitching still be the best tech? I will let you know how we do.

I would fish just like it wasn’training. The rain will undoubtedly affect you a lot more than it will the fish. Their used to getting wet.
In fact, I would say that the cloud cover may make the shallow bite even more effective. I’ll take a cloudy, rainy day over a sunny day every time.

A good rain (no lightning) is better than a good walleye chop on the surface. In fact I prefer the rain. that means its cloudy and the surface of the water is still diffusing what light there is. This is especially true on clear lakes. With rain, and no wind, boat handling is easier too. IMHO!
