pretty much never been out to the mississippi but planning on going out on sunday. wanting to go in the lacrosse area wondering if anybody could tell me were the launches are at? also planning o just dragging crawlers over wingdams, good or bad idea this time of year? thanks, Ben Purvis.
Ben-There are quite a few open ramps in the area now 
Dresbach Dam will put you at the head of pool 8
Trempealeau Dam will put you in at the head of Pool 7
7th Street Landing in LaCrosse will put you in on pool 8 a few miles south of the dam
I am not sure that crawlers will be the best right now. Plastics as well as 3-ways with raps should put some fish in the boat. Also vertical jigging and dragging are also producing some fish below the dams.
sounds good thanks wats, i woulda never thought that plastics would out fish live bait i guess you learn something new every day.
To tell you the truth, until last year I thought the same way 
Now that I have proven to myself that I can catch better fish with plastics, I don’t evfen buy minnows anymore. Now when the plastic bite stops, live bait is the way to go. But, we have a ways to go before I start using crawlers and leeches
