With the tournament going on and great weather, it was expected to be crowded on pool 4. It was. spent the whole day there. Used plastic for the most part, and honestly it was quite a slow day for the three of us( only 8-10 legal fish for the day). After reading Dustin’s very good post, it looked liked Sat. was either for the HAVES or HAVE NOT’S. Us, I’d have to say we were in the NOT MUCH category. Fishing did pick up for us say after 4pm and finally got a few in the boat, and I’ll take guiding credit and put a friend on to a 28 inch Walleye. I’d have a picture here, but haven’t figured out how to get it from 850K file down to under 100K so I can add it as an attachment. hope to get it done later tonight. Looking at the tournament results, it also looked like quite a few good fisherman also had a tough day. But that’s fishing. later. Jack..

Hope I did this right, but should work, famous last words, right ?? The attachment is the photo of Jamie Revermann’s 28 inch Walleye from Sat 3/1. I told Jamie about the FTR, hopefully he will join and be a regular contributor. He says he hasn’t spent much time at all on the river, but with the way he looks in this picture, I think he will be back.. Jack..

Hmm I think he might have the big fish of the year honors wrapped up all ready! At least now we know what we have to top. Nice fish Jamie!

    well Jack…..
dont feel bad…. I think pool 4 has been pretty tough for most of us the last couple of days…. partly because we have been sooo spoiled by the awesome bite we have had this cold water season….
the fish there have been pounded…… but there are still there… particularly the walleyes…. like you I have not found the secret for breaking into the walleye bite yet… if you check my post there is quite a big list of what did NOT work…. and obviously if you check a couple of other posts you will see some things that did work…… to me it seems the super doo channel bite has been fading slowly over the last 2-3 weeks…. I think this will continue as pressure on the fish by the dam (and else where) continues to mount… but with that being said… superdoos have still been MY best weapon…. but Ive seen enough to convince me that ringworms are probably better…. though try as I might Ive not hit the right combination of color, presentation and location to put me into fish with those…. so I will just keep trying…

what size of jigheads do you use when fishing your ringworms or superdoos in deeper wather say 15-28 ft of water.
