Ice is out below the dam and today at least I could have launched at either Blackhawk landing(2-3 feet ice shelf), BAD AXE, or Genoa. Unfortunately my boat is at the welding shop and my motor is at repair shop. How did all you guys that were out there do today. We fished the ice by Desoto Bay and didn’t have much fun.

Today is my first day on FTR.com! A few weeks ago (before the ice-out) was the first time I fished the river at Genoa. My Dad and I did well on saugers and undersized walleyes. I am looking for advice/fishing partners. Please message me. P.S. – I also know Laverne Campbell in La Farge and he has been promising us a fishing trip for a year or two now…no luck yet!

If LaVerne takes you out it will be well worth your Wait. I used to spend so many days a year fishing off the wall with David Lawrence and Laverne that I couldn’t even count them. You have never seen three grown men try to beat each other to the next fish, and the biggest fish of the day in your life. Laverne used to say Ecklor this is what they look like, and David would just sit there on his pail and catch them one right after another. Butch from Stoddard, Laverne , and Dave taught me finesse jigging techniques that I will use the rest of my life. Anyway if you can’t ever get out in the boat with the Teacher, a student might find room for ya.

Welcome to FTR. Keep reading and keep posting and since it looks like spring is getting closer in your area I hope to be reading about your fishing outings too. Thanks, Bill
