People must have used up enough of their “sick” days to get off work! It’s 34 degrees now and it’s 8:40am……Only 6 boats so far. Attatched is a pic of the river this morning. I ended up with 71 boats yesterday, in case anyone was wondering how many were out there.

Here is a good excuse a buddy of mine used on a friday trip last year.
Call the boss early friday morning and told him he was not feeling well. Was having chest pains but would come in if he had to. I was in the back ground trying not to bust out laughing the way he was playing it up. Well first thing monday morning the boss is right in his face wondering what was going on. Greg told him it was just gas. We laughed all day about this one.

My employer uses a system of time off hours that are accrued on a monthly basis. Out of this account comes my vacation , holidays and sick days. If I do not get sick the extra 5 days a year become vacation days. Even if I did call in sick my account would be debited by 8 hours , so my time there on Wednesday was a vacation day , better known as AA. Attitude Adjustment.

Mike W. at least your boss didn’t go fishing and drift by you in a boat on the water and recognize you that day!

Iwas there. I brought in the jig I thought was from EVERTS 20 years ago. We had a great day. Started with ring worms and supers in 15 to 24 ft. Small and not real steady. Friend I fish with always runs one pole with a minnow. It paid off big time today. We caught a lot of nice walleyes. Very few sauger. Depth 15 to 24ft with the majority in the 15 to 19 ft range. Not many boats. Nothing big but almost all legal. Kept 7 for meal for two familes.I allow no walleye over 20 to be kept in my boat. We were on the Minn. side up by the dam. Seen a lot of small fish caught in the deep hole. Again I would like to thank all the people who contribute there knowledge. I love fishing plastics and jigs buy dont forget sometimes simple is best.
