Pepin Bite

I know this is already been posted but is any one fishing Pepin? I want to hit the ice tommorow and decide to try the river or the lake.

The only place I’ve seen people on the ice lately is on the harbor at Bay Point. I went through Lake City a few days ago and didn’t see anyone on the ice. There are some guys that fish it… but not many. If you make it out, let us know how you do.

I’m at the resort right now and one of two things has happened.

1) – I’ve gotten a bit soft over the winter after spending the better part of two month off the river…. or….

2) – It’s just too cold and windy to fish out a boat today!

I’m not much for icefishing but that coleman and an iceshack has some appeal.

H20—-If you are geting a little soft at your age?! I must be something less than a fresh marshmellow at my age.

You know me… I’m just banking my time until mid-March. After that it’s “fish ’til ya’ almost die” time. Which I nearly did last spring. That 14 Lber is out there waiting for me somewhere and I figure I’ve only got about 3, maybe 4, weeks each season in the spring when I’ve got the best shot at catching her. So I’m saving up right now. And you’re not soft… a little fluffy around the edges maybe but you’ve got a hard-core middle!

There’s 3 boats out right now. Nobody back in with a report yet… if I hear anything earth shattering, beyond “saugers are biting,” I’ll let everyone know.
