A couple buddies and I ventured out this am about 6:30.We arrived at Everts and found that we were the only boat there,we launched and headed for some wingdams (Thanks to Dustin for turning me on to this pattern)we found a ton of ice flow and had a hard time pitching to the winggies because of it.We decided to go vertical,we targeted 25-27 FOW and found the small eyes in a biting mood early on.Around 8:30 or so the big Saugers started to show themselves to one of us in the boat.We ended up with 3 nice keepers and a few smaller ones for the day.We headed back due to work around 10 am.Only one of us caught fish and let me tell you it was a long ride back home.Next time he will pay the price(can you say net boy). The color was silver minnow with metal flake. All the fish were taken with that color. All in all it was a great day to be out, with no other boats and little wind it was a blast. We will be back at it next Wednesday,if any of you are out say HI.We will be in the Stratos bass boat hauling in the Saugs.By the way THANK YOU DEAN.He snapped a few pics and shot the bull for a bit with us.Dean is a great guy always willing to help with a tip or two.Stop in and he can get you going with some confidence and the rest will be up to you.

“one person caught fish”, but all three of you are smiling….
    good pic, and good Saugers.
quessing if it was difficult to pitch Wingdams, then It might be hard to be on plain going up and down river too. What was the length of some of your biggest Saugers???

18 1/2 inches if memory serves me correct Jack, and these fish were carbon copies of each other.Yes there is ice coming down and one should use extra caution, but not enough to keep you off the river.

It was a good day to be out on the water, very little wind made it comfortable. And yes Brian I was called netboy a time or two.Odd thing is as soon as the net hit the water Tim would just flip the fish in the boat. Here we are scrambling for the net and when we get ready he just horses the fish in like a bass guy.We did get some good laughs with that.Next time he may find himself with two guys looking oddly when he hollers for the net. Can’t wait until next Wednesday to do it again. It sure beats working
Is anyone else planning on heading down next Wednesday?
