Everts Resort has a good supply of jigs tied by Bucktail Wayne. He has the nicest patterns, head design and highest quality I’ve ever seen. Call Everts and have Steve mail you out some or even better, stop in and pick some up before you hit the water this weekend. I’ll be watching the shop for Steve Saturday and Sunday, more wedding preparations he tells me but I’m starting to think he’s taking advantage of that excuse a bit now , and I’ll stear you to to the best colors/patterns.
February 6, 2003 at 1:22 am #251667Wow are you saying there’s a bait sale this weekend at Everets.LMAO Steve
February 6, 2003 at 1:40 am #251670Yup. I’m the “crazy baitshop guy” and everything must go! No reasonable offer will be refused! Should be a fun weekend with decent temps forecast and Everts will have in all the new doos, and I’m about 99% sure that the new ringies and k-grubs will be there too. So I’ll get to rub elbows with a bunch of people and spend some time on the end of the dock playing with all the new goodies when nobody’s looking!
February 6, 2003 at 1:44 am #251671thanks,i’m thinking i just might take ya up on that one james.if mama[walleyechick]dont have to work i’ll try to get dn. and see ya.
February 6, 2003 at 2:50 am #251682Ok James that sounds like fun. I have to be in Red Wing anyway so maybe I’ll swing by and catch some of the close out sales. I suppose by 3 or 4 in the afternoon you should have it all just about sold. Maybe we could even play with the bumper cars.See Ya Saturday. Steve
February 6, 2003 at 3:05 am #251684hey james what time are you going to be there in the morning i plan on being up there pretty early on saturday, and am wondering what time it opens, i would like to pick up some ringie’s and do’s
February 6, 2003 at 3:08 am #251686I’ll be there and ready for business by 6 AM. When you get there, the shop will be open and the ramps ready to go. See ya’ on Saturday.
February 6, 2003 at 6:09 am #251695NOTE TO SELF…….Hide all personal fishing items before James sells it!!!!!!!!!!
February 6, 2003 at 1:57 pm #251706What I have been hearing is 50% maybe 60% off of everything—except Steve’s personal stuff if you can find it you can keep it—-V
February 6, 2003 at 1:59 pm #251707I’m taking sealed bids on everything including the docks. Those can be towed away at the end of the business day on Sunday. Oh yeah, anyone want a “lightly used” black lab?
February 6, 2003 at 2:27 pm #251708I’ll take the dog. Looks like a good companion as long as he doesn’t try to drive my truck. Maybe you could install that ramp cam while you are running the show. If you do you could make a compilation video of ‘When Good Ramps Go Bad’ or ‘When Ramps Attack.’ I’m sure the Fox Network would buy the rights to it. Although it would probably be the same scene. A mysterious man blaming a Black Lab for driving an old Suburban onto some thin ice.

BobVosikaPosts: 2February 6, 2003 at 4:37 pm #251718Steve,
I’m new to river fishing and need some help with jig and plastics color selection. If I stop in on Saturday, will you help me with color selection??February 6, 2003 at 5:04 pm #251721Sure… it would be my pleasure. I’d suggest showing up around 10:30 AM or so that way the morning rush of anglers will be on the water and we can spend some time in the bait shop. I’ll be there all day so the conversation is welcomed. I’ll help you or anyone else for that matter to the best of my abilities.
See ya’ on Saturday.
February 6, 2003 at 9:06 pm #251738……………Bunch of wise guys around here……PS….”slightly used black lab”……you hurt his feelings!
February 7, 2003 at 12:59 am #251759I heard that Steve’s stuff was being given away for door prizes!!! After all, how could Steve complain when James has 2 days of record sales?!!!
February 9, 2003 at 1:38 am #251891It was good seeing all the troops down there today! The conversation made the afternoon fly by. I enjoyed all the fish’n stories. No better way to spend a cold winter day than standing around the baitshop bs’ing with fellow rivers rats.
I never turn down the opportunity to get my hands on a good bucktail! And these jigs fit the bill.
Here is a pic of a few that I picked up. Can’t wait to give these a try.
And here is a shot of a few of many cards Evert’s has on the wall. I wish I had brought more cash! No free stuff today! Lol
Believe it or not there were several boats out today and they reported a good bite. Way too cold for this guy, but good to see the open water on the river…..whitecaps and all!
