1/26- With the nice temps, thought I’d try something different and see if any fish could be caught on Pool 3.

We fished 1:30ish to 5:30ish from Hastings dam down to Prescott. Saw 2 other boats at Hastings dam and no one at Prescott- surprising (I’ve never fished P3 in the winter, so for all I know there are no fish there).

    Fought the wind all day.

    As for the fishing,

Within 10 minutes of stopping at the dam, I caught (and released) this 22″ walleye on a 3 way- minnow. Stayed at the dam a while, then moved down to Prescott and fished all over. Not a bite.

She was to be the only fish of the day.

Nice Fish. I hate when that happens, you catch fish as soon as you get on the water. You think its going to be a great day and then nothing the rest of the day . At least you caught one nice fish .

I hate days like that, pull in pop a fish right away, fish the rest of the day for “nothing” , Still it’s always nice to get out. Thanks for the report.

I fished P3 Hastings damn area all weekend. On friday we had a good plastics bite going with chart. pepper and pro blue. Sat. I couldn’t buy a bite on those colors so I switched to a white super doo. That seemed to work for the morning bite. The afternoon I had to switch to meat.

The “other putz” was in the boat as well as the dog.
I ran into pfluggy on friday.

On Friday the current was just right for a 3/8 oz jig. Get up to around 42′ and drift on down. Sat. morning things changed, they must have opened up the flow at the damn. The current would pull you towards the damn, and then push you off to the west side, so boat control was a little more difficult, but still managable to keep you into the fish.

No real monsters were put into the boat, but we were out fishing non the less.

Sunday morning the wind switched out of the north, and the sleet, well that was just an added bonus.

I ran down to prescott for giggles, didn’t see anyone fishing down there. I’ll have to give that a shot this weekend.

Yup, that was me. I didn’t recongnize you until you had moved to the sand bar. Brooks and i were chatting and he had mentioned your name. Then all the pieces fell together.
After that I put my in depth sticker on the windshield of the lund, easier to see.

I’ll be back down there later this week to see if anything is going on.

    How was the shallow bite?

    Good Reports RY5 and Jami,
I like seeing reports on pool 3. It doesn’t get much near as much attention. I might have get the boat out early this year if we have another warm up, at try my luck.
