I went out of Everts with a couple of buddies. Dean is just a great guy and it was nice to finally meet him. We ran up to the dam around 8:00AM and joined another dozen boats. Fished there for an hour and a half with one bite apiece. No fish to show for it. We did see 3-4 other fish caught. Went downstream and fished the crotch of the Y and a small confluence further down on the Minnesota side with nothing. Headed back up to the dam for another hour and again nothing. Minnows and plastic were our presentations. Back at Everts we saw a boat transferring a livewell full of nice looking sauger/walleye? that we hear they had picked up the previous afternoon/evening fishing ????? Dean may have more information.
Good to meet you folks as well, the mid-day bite has been very tough for the majority of boats, but a small handfull of people did have some limits to there credit.I too will try to have some pics up later.
Dragging Ringworms during the Mid-Day constantly produced fish our boat on Sunday. They were biting very light so as soon as you felt them, you needed to give them the rod tip before setting the hook. We would drift down with 1/8th oz and work back up with 1/4 oz. Up by the dam and the confluence both produced fish. The Super-doo bite was not there for our boat on Sunday. We ended with a 2 man limit of fish between 15.5 and 17 inches. The big fish for the day was only 19″ and the small fish for the day was like a 7-8 inch Saugeye.
