The entire channel is froze and people are venturing out. There was one person up past the short wall Saturday night. Some nice fish are being caught as the flow is down to about 15,500. The evening hours are best and have been producing a few nice walleyes and sauger.
If the cold weather they have predicted comes and the flow continues to stay low, people will start to press their luck and try and cross the channel. I guess there is something to be said about being the first one out. Personally, I’ll wait. I don’t swim too well under the ice. Minnows and jigging raps are working best.
Good luck to all. Please be safe.
