pool 4 update 1/20/03

    Just a quick update on pool 4. Very few boats have been out the past week. not one boat went out Monday-thursday! about 8 boats were out over the weekend. I talked to a couple of them and they were still having a fair amount of luck. One angler reported 11 (i think it was 11 anyway) walleye over 15 inches the one day he was out. The ramps have remained open. Fair amount of skim ice in the mornings, but the river clears up nicely as the sun beats on it. I may try and get out one of the next few days and try it myself. Will have a more detailed report if i make it out.

    Long range weather showed a warming trend out past the weekend, if it gets into mid 20’s I’ll be there. Thanks Steve

    ya, it looks like it’s suppose to get to 40 on Monday, but it’s gonna get worse before it gets better…. -19 below tomorrow night. That might make a little ice!

    So you’re saying I might have to back up fast, hit the brakes and skid ‘er in over the ice shelf? Glad I have a removable transducer for just such conditions. Suspect the ice will leave if it hits 40

    geeeez steve….. where you get weather reports THAT far out? mine only says it might hit 20’s? sure Im north.. but not THAT far north!!….. but I sure HOPE your right!… I think the only ice im gonna see this year is Saturday at the FTL get together at south Center… its practically my back yard so I gotta go over and see whats up!!…
    but personally I think us river types should have a cold weather get together too!!.. what dya say Steve? cant we hop on down to Everts and have a freez your rump off deal going? we got enough crazies…
    oh yeah.. guess I have to ask the boss too….. soooooo James.. what dya say? I know your busy… but something pretty informal? kind of a small scale deal, just for fun?

    Sounds like a party in the making… don’t have to ask me twice. If some FTR’ers are getting together on the river for a test of endurance and to match some fishing skills, count me in! Just say when…

    Uh-oh………..would be doers and darers appear to be rising from the tundra! Circumstances pending of course, I’d be interested in joining the “crazies”……………..for a cup of hot cocoa at the ramp!! lol! Okay OKAY!!!! I’d fish too………..from the car window!!! Alright, ………………that’s enough! I shouldn’t get ol’ Rivereyes started up!
