ME TOO!!! [obsessed]. That photo made me fall in love with the river all over again. I’m homesick. Thanks for the pic. Please feel free to post more photos. Got any of some fishing trips you made to the river this past year with a little story to go along with them? Thanks Bill

Reflections from a year gone by. Thanksgiving 2002 was a memorable day on the Ole Mississippi, starting out with a early morning trip up to Lock & Dam No. 3 with my nephew Nick from Grantsburg, WI. Nick and I try to get together every Thanksgiving morning for some sort of memorable outdoor experience. In 2001 it was duck hunting near second cut and this past year it was knocking some pike up at the dam.
The morning was picture perfect, sunshine, calm & hungry walleyes. It is not that often that I get to troll up to the dam but that morning there just was no one out and we ran a pair of three ways with number 5 rapalas that we could not keep up with. Jigging is fun but we really like dragging.
We were able to put a nice bunch of fish in the box that Nick was able to take up to deer camp with him that week end.
It truly was a day to be thankful.
