If any of you die hards are looking to get on the Ole Miss Pool 2, the 494 ramp is available for dropping in. The down river side is almost entirely open, believe it or not. There will be a fair amount of ice flowages on the river but I suspect one can find some fishable areas around the bridge. Once the sun gets out it who knows, it could even be enjoyable.

eyesforever, we got to get out somethime soon, I like your attitude!

Me and the dog were just down at the ramp….about ten minutes away from the house here in St Paul. The upstream side up the ramp froze up, but only out to the end of the dock.. Would take a little chopping to get in today. (See attacted picture above) Brutal cold this morning Done it a couple times when it was in the teens, not real fun….today is way too cold for this guy to sit in a boat! Well, unless it’s in my heated garage!

    Take care,

    J.

Here is a shot (See Attachment) of the river looking upstream….. Lots of sheet ice, but plenty of open water too!

Ive been out many times there when it looks like that… BUT… not with the wind and cold we have been living with!.. too much teeth for me…. though when I was out on Wednesday the fishing was VERY refreshing….. a very strong plastics bite… but I dont get you guys all talking about “dry hands”… shoot how do you keep your hands dry when you have to take off all them big fish? thats what I want to know…. isnt it drier to put on a minnow every hour or two?? instead of hauling up fish every couple of minutes?? I mean.. what a PAIN!!…. my hands NEVER dry out…. and I have all these cuts from teeth and gill plates and spines from fins…. *ouch*… so as you can see there are many disadvantages to using plastics that you have not even discussed…..! I think this information is being supressed…. so Im sneaking it into THIS post!!

I noticed the rough hands after wensday also. I think I would be there today also if it wasn’t for the wind. So put me in the fair weather pup column also. I do hope to here a report from today eyesforever. I can wait until you get your fingers working again. Good luck fishing.
