I just read a fishing report for LOTW and the guy said that people were using cranks tipped with crawlers? Has anyone tried this? Would they even run right? I have fished LOTW often and know that they catch fish on WACKY stuff, so I am not surprised. It must be nice to have a lake and river that is that full of fish. Should I be humbled, or is this just another LOTW the fish are REALLY biting technique?

actually I have tried this… back in the “old” days we used to use a flatfish with crawlers and it worked good…..

now I use a jointed rapala with a crawler piece…. I would guess, they are using shad raps……. its a lake technique, usually on the river the fishes visibility and reaction time is much more limited so that bait would have no effect…. but in lakes it CAN make a difference, at times…..

I have tipped Rooster Tails in lakes to produce a better bite. Worked when I needed it to but it’s not common practice for me. :O)
