    Booooooo….

Fished Maiden, No Point, finally up the river… got some sauger with jig and minnow.

Trolling and pitching jigs produced nothing unlessit was tipped with bait…

Shoulda gone to Mille Lacs !!!

Water temps 51-53 deg, the shad at dam were EVERYWHERE dying on top… another few degrees… then again the temp dropped, low pressure, and rain… picked worst day in 2 weeks to go, but was fun to go out with Drews Dad, and Jimmy none the less…

    Thanks for the ride Jimmy…

Was out on Sunday as well. The pitching bite was off for me also. Between my self and 2 other guys we only had 4 fish casting jigs. Started my day in the dam area, had 4 decent fish. Once they started to lock thru barge after barge the water was acting really funny. I knew it was going to mess up the fishing in that area so I beat foot down river. Ended up putting a 2 man limit of eye’s in the boat trolling cranks. A couple of 21-22″ fish took big fish honors for the day . Clown #5 shad raps were best with orange craw a close second.

The pitching bite was just starting to take flight until the warmer temps moved in. Fished plastics and bait in the areas we took fish trolling but could not get any takers .Fish just wanted cranks on this day no matter how hard I tried to feed them a jig . It was a tough day and boring fishing at that. Thought my trolling days would be over until next May .

I have a jig pitchin trip on Wed this week so I will give those shallow fish a good work over. Hope I don’t have to resort to trolling again . I am really, really ready for a good casting bite .

    Hey Dustin!
I think we saw you guys trolling as we were heading up to the dam. We tried trolling on Pepin but didn’t try it on the river. Probably should have Well there is always next time! Nice being a passenger again instead of Captain. Thanks Jim!

    Thanks for the reports!

Was thinking of putting in a half day on P4 or P5 on Wednesday myself. Forecast calls for warm temps and windy conditions . Probably another trolling day but you never know ! Even though the fish might want it, count me in as bored with trolling to.

Just curious, has anyone had any luck with the walleyes on the lower half of Pepin?

It appears everyone abandons that area this time of year?

I am aware that a lot of fish migrate towards the dam, but I have been told by a couple this is a good time to have the lake to yourself ??

    Simply looking for input.
