I have followed this site for some time and finaly decided to join. The information on this site is top notch. Myself, two brother and father have been going to Alma for about 5 years now and love the friendly people and the excellent fishing. We’ll be heading up this Thursday for a 3 day trip yay . Reports on this pool have been far and few between. I’ll submit my first report when we return. Is there any current information available?

    Thanks in advance yay

The water level on the Mississippi River is still quite high from all of the rain a few weeks ago up north. It reached its peak and is now receding. As of right now the water level is about four feet higher than normal. As for how the fish are biting there, I haven’t a clue, but good luck!!!

I haven’t been down in a couple weeks but I do know if you just want to catch crappies and sunfish that they are biting pretty good right now. One of the better spots is right in west newton. Just float around in there to all the different logs and you’ll catch alot of fish. I haven’t heard any good news on the walleye fishing.
    Good luck

Hey Al, it about time you start talkin on here Bud. Thanks for sharing with Scott about pool 5. Word is out that you fish pool 5 alot and I would sure appreciate any info you can pass along to everyone. Anything from: hows the bite for different fish, what techniques you find work best for different species, type of structure best for different species, howe the flow affects where the fish will be on pool 5, etc. We ALL learn by guys sharing how they fish and what works along with what didn’t work etc. Thanks.
