I got out of about 4 hours on saturday sfternoon, not much to report, water temp. 55 degrees, it was muddy but not as bad as I,ve seen it in the past. The current was ripping but I found plenty of wingdams with just the right amount of current and some great eddys that should of had some fish.4 hours and not a bite, I was surprised, the spots I fished really looked ideal. I mainly pulled three ways and pitched jigs as well as some vertical jigging in the deeper eddys.Thinking back I haven’t done real well with high water when the water temps. are below 60 degrees.

the sealegs also made it out for a few hours on Sat with similar results we did manage two white bass for our efforts pretty disappointing thought we would muster a few walleyes in the slack water!

I fished from 8-12 this morning for the 1st time in a long time. Wasted too much time on jigs in the slack water area from the dam to the confluence with only smaller fish to show for it. Finally switched to cranks and nailed 3 17-18″ chunky sauger/saugeye at the confluence.

Great morning, nice weather, had the river to myself!

Way to go Dave, I probably saw you this morning from the 35E bridge.

Monday afternoon fishing was not to bad. Found walleyes in the backs water and on the only wingdam we had a chance to fish. Managed 5 in the short 3 hours we had to fish.
The fish where hitting suckers minnows in the back waters. Hair jigs and plastics on the wingdam. Nothing big but still nice fish running 18 to near 22″. Joe that I was fishing with today said he picked up nine on the wingdams the other day. Love this high water fishing. Hope to spend a good part of the day out there on tuesday searching more high water spots.

Dave B thanks for the info, managed six walleyes at the confluence this evening in three hours. I decided to give it a try after reading your post and it paid off thanks!!
