Any reports on peppin as of late? Will be coming up sometime early oct. for a long weekend. It has been a long time since I have been there and just wondering what to expect. I know it is kind of early to ask but don’t know when I will be able to get on here again. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

I fished Pepin last monday trolling the lake near Deer Is. We had a handful of walleyes, a couple northerns and all the white bass a guy could handle pulling #7 blue / silver shad raps in 12 ‘ -14’ of water. The most productive speeds were in the low – 2 MPH range.

With some cooler weather on the way, look for the crank casting bite to shallow rip rap and rocks to kick off. # 5 raps thrown up tight can produce some BIG ‘eyes this time of year.

When you are pulling the #5 or #7 Raps do you use floaters or count downs or both?
