I wanted to thank all the friendly people at Everts for a great time we had on the river and the great place to stay. Fishing took us a couple days to figure out but when we did figure it out…….bammo…..three ways and rappala’s were the ticket for us in 15-20′. trolling up and slipping down and pumping off the bottom, sometimes just letting it sit, Sunday morning we had a smack down that was awesome. I used my motor to slowly move us up the river hold us stationary and allow us to work the lure. We caught walleyes up to 18″ and sauger up to 20″, Sunday the keepers were 2-1 over little ones. Guys that anchor and fish next to us caught lots of little ones. This was definetly the ticket for bigger fish. Once again thanks to Everts for the place to stay, we will be back next year!

You really cant beat the location. There isn’t a resort closer to the river that I know of. In the spring, all you have to do is open your door and drop a jig down!!

Good to hear the fish cooperated.

We were also on river sunday but we didnt get any info from steve because they said they had got rid of him (just for the day). But without his info. we still did very good fishing up by dam with jigs and twister tails 1 walleye 21″and 3 20″ sauger and several 16-18″. No anchor ! Just moved around with trolling motor fished a little deeper than all the anchored boats 18-25 feet but everybody just moved right in and put out the anchor and watched us catch fish. It maybe more work to troll around than anchor but you will catch alot more fish.
