Walleyes & drifting weeds

I find when fishing Walleyes in the current, with drifting weeds floating down stream that the bite more often than not can be tough. I think the weeds when floating by confuse them into striking, and after awhile they get tired of nipping at the green stuff so either exit to an out of current area or just quit biting. Is any body else experiencing this? and… what are you using to get them to bite? …. {John}
