Just a quick note to let everyone know that the gates at the dam were opened all the way out of the water this evening. Look out for the floaters!

Fished upper part of Pool 4 today, Dam to Maiden Rock. Can definitely substantiate the floaters, they are
everywhere, many skeg eater size. Be on the alert, they are especially hard to see in early morning when the
    fog is hanging low.

Just a quick FYI. The gates were put back down Wednesday the 16th in the morning. The water is still movin pretty good, but is expected to drop about a foot by monday. It has already dropped about a foot in the last 3-4 days. The fish still aren’t cooperating the best though. I’ll give a more detailed report this weekend, but basically it’s real spotty. No one that I have seen has really gotten into the nice size sauger or walleye by the numbers at the dam. Still some nice ones being caught on sonars and 3-ways, but few and far between. I think once the river levels “level” out, it should be some fast action for awhile. Good Luck

Any suggestions for Sunday? Am thinking about exploring the backwaters up in pool 3 if the water is still high. Was also considering pool 4 backwaters. Would this be the right approach or should we stay in the upper end of pool 4?
