Made it back up to Aitkin this weekend after a good morning of fishing on pool 2 with TBO. The eyes where on up there again. Caught lots of nice fish from 10″ to 22″ being the biggest. My five year old trolled that one in. He also netted a 33″ pike for me.
I was suprised to see another boat on the river in that area. A couple of the locals out fished us pretty good with two limits over flowing a five gallon bucket I got to see at the landing. I cant remember there names but the one told me he was pushing 90. Said he had been fishing the river there since he was my boys age. Way to go.
I think I will get to try it up there one more time this year. If you see a boat heading north on the deer hunting opener that will be me.
Heading back to pool 2 this weekend. Nice pictures DeeZee. I will have to pick up some of those bombers and give it a try. The jigs seem to bring in plenty of fish but the size runs a little small. Except for the cats.
