With the lake level dropping has the water clarity improved? Would appreciate some information if it is better at the upper or lower end or if the Wisconsin or Minnesota side seems to be cleaner. Fished the lake two weeks ago and it was dirty wherever you fished. Hopefully this has improved and somewhat back to normal.

Guys that have been down to the south end of the lake have been telling me there’s a marked improvement in the water clarity. Much better than a week ago. The further north you get the lower the clarity gets. The river north of Red Wing around the resort is fishable and the bite has been sporadic with very good fishing about every 3rd day it seems. Over the last week there’s been a decent number of 24″ plus fish caught and released by guys running out of Everts. Pulling cranks has been the best producer for most.

Water clarity on the MN south end was poor tuesday afternoon. Picked up a small sauger and one northern. Went last Saturday and did a little better with 5 fish, best bite was in Lacopolis (sp?) area. Maybe I’m in the wrong sequence of the 3 day cycle.
