Fished the North end of pool 12 on Sat. and Sun. Fishing was SLOW. A couple of short ones off of the wing dams and clam beds (and a couple of real hungry blue gills on leaches). We stuck with the crawler and leach standards, but also tossed a couple of cranks at ’em, but couldn’t raise their interests. Saw very few fishermen out, maybe because the boat traffic was getting a little wild. We still had a couple of great days on the water .

I was out for a short while in the middle of the day on Saturday at DBQ but didn’t stay out long as there was some sort of Baja boat rally going on. There must have been over 100 of those loud Baja’s out there. I couldn’t hear myself think. I managed to catch one short walleye and a couple small saugers.

I went out early yesterday (Sunday) and was on the water before 6am and off the water by 11am and I did alright. I caught several walleye and saugers. One walleye went over 24″. I took a few digital photos and will post them tomorrow if I have the time to download them off the camera to the computer. I caught only 2 legal fish with one about 16″ and one between 19″ & 20″ but I caught several fish under 15″. All fish were released. The bite has slowly been getting a little better each time out. The water is once again rising so I was only able to fish certain wingdams. If the predicted severe weather stays away later this afternoon I will be out again tonight.

Wished I would have saw ya out there Eyehunter, but my fishing buddy for the weekend is like an old diesel engine. Ya gotta let them warm up for quite awhile before you can get’em moving. Thats not really true, we decided to get some breakfast before going out for the day. We didn’t hit the water on Sun. till 10:30. Long after I would have liked to been out. If you ever see a bass tracker 17ft v-hull with a 70 H.P. merc, come and say HI! (then show me where the fish are ) Glad to hear you had a little better luck than we did. Did I say luck, I mean know-how.
