Spent the day with my buddy Dale Gappa on the upper end of the lake. The bite was a little on the slow side with 14 walleyes and saugers for the 9 1/2 hrs on the water. We picked up 10 fish pulling cranks in 10-14 ft. along rip rap shorelines. Shad Raps #5 were the only baits we caught fish with, colors didn’t seem to matter much. Went up into the river a little way and pulled some 3-ways in current breaks, managed to get 4. We were using plain hooks and floaters with leeches and crawlers. Hopefully I can get an attachment to work, with the big fish of the day.

Evening Kerry, Great looking fish. Anytime you can be on the water and catch some nice eye’s like you got there and I’d say it was a good day. Nice photo. Steve

Thanks for the report Kerry. Tom Crowe and I fished the different flats on the river Sat. and managed a few fish but the action was slow with the high dirty water and fast current. The fastest bite was fishing the current breaks but the fish were small. Had alot of fun though. Its great to be on the water anytime and didn’t have alot of boat traffic like there usually is on a weekend. Anyone else have an experience they want to share? Please fell free to make a post and share how you did on the water. Thanks, Bill

Nice fish Kerry, I just have to start getting to the river over the summer months instead of waiting until Oct. and Nov. It’s just hard to find guys from over this way(Ellendale) who want to make the journey.
