For the last couple of weekes the trolling infront of goose island has been doing awsome. . Atleast everytime we wold make a pass we or the people infront trollin or in back trollin would catch a nice eye or suager. I also ran into a nice flat head about 10 lbs wich put up a great fight and a nice meal .The color we were slautering them on was a very bright blue driver or a brownner color. a guy i was talking to showed me a 51/2 lb walleye he had caught. so give it a try and i gauntee u fish.

Well on friday night me and a couplee of my dads friends went out for some nice pike. Well we had a balst that night. I mean we maybe had at least 20 fish on but couldnt seem to bring them in. Well we caught 3 nice fish though. The first one was caught by me a 32 inch pike wich is not bad. Then mark pulled in a nice 34 incher at least 10 lbs. Hear is somthing quit stang. Well first we were gonna call it a night but we made a couple more cast befor we left though. Then wammmmmm mark has a nice fish on. I went a neted it. it was a nice 5 1/2 lbs walleye wich he caught on a spinner bait . I thought that was quit strang.

    Casey,

    Walleyes on spinner baits…

A year ago I was at the Goose and was casting a spinner bait among weeds in a shallow (3-4 feet) bay trying to catch some bass and pike when to my surprise I caught a walleye. I thought it was a fluke until I caught three more from that spot. I went back a week later and we did it again. We saw a few of them hit and they would come up from the bottom out of the weeds and strike quite aggressively. Once school is out I’ll get back there to see if they are there again.

Glad you are enjoying the Goose Island area. I live only a few minutes from there and love all that it has to offer.
