Where are the Eyes? Fished for 3 1/2 hours from 1100 to 230 today and couldn’t find a fish. Water too cold? Maybe just myself. Fished with my son. Tried shad raps on the wing dams, crawlers on the dams between Prescott and Diamond Bluff, and not one hit! We could probably use a little sun and warm weather? Any ideas? I thought by now they should be hitting on the dams.

Yep, your probably right. I was just checking on the Army Corps of Engineers web site, and last year at this time the river temperature at Red Wing was 63 degrees, this year it’s 54 degrees, also the flow last year was 16,000 cfs, compared to 33,000 cfs this year. 10 degrees water temperature differance, with twice the flow. Kinda explains why I was catching fish last year at this time on the wing dams, and nothing Thursday. Hey Chappy, how the 3M contest go this morning on the rivers. Had to work 12 hour Midnights again this year and couldn’t make it down this year. Any report from Saturday?

The storms over the last week really cooled off the river temps, I see they are comming back up again, atleast thats how it is on Pool 2. ( I take the river temp every day at work )

I just put up a post. They are snapping like Gators! Look for current breaks and seams. With the water high right now, they are easy to find.
