Pool Two

After spending the week-end wrapping up the school year with graduations, I was finally able to get out on Pool Two again.

My son and I worked some wingdams with no success. We then made a run down river, fished a couple of current breaks that had worked for us last week. Trolling number 5 clowncolored raps up steam we caught 4 walleyes with the honors for the biggest being caught by my son at just under 6 pounds. This was the second largest walleye he has caught for the rest of the day he had that rather dazed that only a successful angler can really know!

All fish came in less then 7 feet of water off just off the current breaks.

    Fun day.

That sounds like a pretty fun day. I was able to get out on Pool 2 on the 13th. It was a pretty slow day for me. I was pitching plastics to current breaks and hooked up with one nice walleye that went about 7 pounds. That was the only eye for the day with only a couple other sheepies to go along with it. With the upcoming warmer weather, the action should be heating up.

Good seeing you Fred on the water yesterday. The river has changed quite a bit in the last 2 days. We had a fair day o nsunday. The quality of fish was there just not the numbers we were having in previous days. Looking forward to hearing your results from today (Monday) as you mentioned you would be out. Looks like a nice day out there….of course its Monday!

Plungepool and myself hit pool 2 for awhile today also. Started around 494 checking for a trolling bite and came up blank. Headed up to the confluence after that. There was a ton of debrie floating around 494. Trees, logs and lots more.
The upper part of the pool started out a little slow for us but we did manage to troll up a few eyes. Jointed shad raps trolled threw the current breaks was the trick today. No big fish to report. Biggest was a 20″ saugeye caught just south of the confluence.

    Good to hear Mike.
Was out yesterday after noon and spent the afternoon/evening pitching hair to the current breaks and came up with 8 fish. The smallest was 23″ and the biggest was 27″. Good night for big fish, but the bites were few and far between. I did not get a chance to troll at all like I thought I was going to.

I was up there this afternoon and did not see any surface feeding. Lots of carp up there surface feeding. You could just about walk across them on the lock side. The warmer weather coming might bring the whities out but Im not sure of what the riseing water will do to them.

The white bass where going nuts on the upper croix a couple of weeks ago. Adam and myself must of boated over 100 of them one day throwing top water baits.

Woody, Welcome to the site. What rig where you in on monday. I run a polar craft jon boat with a 25hp honda on back. Make sure to say hi if you see me out there sometime.
