Your old weatherman friend and walleye addict Andy here with some good news to us who fish the Miss. Over the next two days folks from Dubuque LD 11 south through the Quad Cities should see CFS (flow) drop by 12K to 15K, with most site in the range of 100,000 CFS. This, combined with 2 more days of really warm, and mostly dry weather should make for some pretty good conditions. Winds will be a bit gusty from the south, but should stay below 25 mph for all but a couple of hours during the afternoon. To the north, expect a more steady river flow, and a better chance of rain. All in all, our incredible stretch of spring weather continues, but the end is nearing. Cooler weather and showers look to dominate after Thursday. Get out and enjoy it!

By the way, I became a daddy March 19th! Nathan Ervin was born a tall 21 1/2 inches and 9 1/2 lbs. A month later and he’s 26 inches and 13 lbs… maybe he’ll have time to fish with his old man, when he’s not whipping me in basketball!

Congrats Andy. Take a real good look at that pic because they grow so fast that the next thing you know he will be in the boat outfishing you. Sons with that first name turn out to be good anglers.

    Thanks, Bill

    Andy,
Congrats on the new son. Sounds like Nathan will make basketball star and fishing buddy all too soon. Enjoy

Awesome Andy! Great looking young man you have there! Hopefully, you will get to win a basketball game or two before he surpasses you!
Wish I could take advantage of the great weather, but working hard to shorten the HUGE list of things to do before the awesome summer bite starts up!

Thanks for the good words everybody! Life’s been laking fishing lately with the new arrival , but I think I’ve been awake for more sunsises than I ever saw on fishing trips.

Congrats Andy! I hope mom and baby are doing well, my best wishes to you and your family.

I am with ya brother, on the sunrise thing. I am almost into the 7th week with my #3, Xavier. Had some really pretty sunrises, for sure. Nice to hear the turkey’s gobblin’ it up out my back porch…they got a reprive this year with the new baby. It’ll be tough on critters here in a few years, especially with 3 boys growing into aspiring hunters and fisherman.

We’ll have to try to meet sometime this summer and set up a fishing day on pool 14 with the rest of us Cedar Rapids junkies…

Thanks Kornking! We’ll definitely have to get out on the water here sometime sooner or later. Especially now that my boat budget has been diverted to diaper budget! (you’re old V bottom is looking pretty sweet these days!) … I do pitty your turkey population out there in Mt Vernon
