Im going too be heading out next weekend and was wondering if anyone has heard if anything is going on Pepin yet? Or with another week of warm temps does anyone have a clue too whether or not any areas of the lake might start producing?

I’d say it will be a while before we get into any real good fishing on the lake. You can bet that as soon as I get into a Lake Pepin bite I will post a report with all the details.

Actually there is an awesome bite going out on Pepin right now… for small whities and mongo sheepers! I trolled it with DeeZee on Saturday and found it to be dead slow for the walleyes. Water temps were in the low 50’s. I’m pretty sure we start to see the good trolling bite when the water temps hit the upper 50’s – low 60’s most years. You might want to search past fishing reports to get a handle on the average date and temp when the trolling bite starts to pop.

In addition to mongo sheepies, add in a mongo buffalo! My bro tagged this one Sunday while pitching a shoreline in the lake.

Interesting that this one was a male, wonder how big momma was?

I was out both Saturday and sunday and caught nothing but sheepies and whites. I’ll just post my schedule for the rest of you so you know when not to go. The times I have off of work are ALWAYS the times the fish don’t bite.
