I haven’t been out since Monday evening. The fish were tight-lipped over the weekend and on Monday. It had been a good bite right up until last Saturday. A few walleye made it to the boat but they were scattered. The bite should have picked up again by now. With the lousy conditions the last couple of days I haven’t seen many, if any boats out. With the heavy south winds the channel was rough especially up below the dam. The river is on the rise and looks to go up several more feet before it starts to drop. The spawn is on as the water temps have reached to upper 40’s to around 50 degrees. The next couple of weeks could be tough fishing with the higher water and current levels. In a couple weeks the river should be in a little better shape and we should be picking up some of the first post-spawn walleyes.
