    How’s the fishing on Pool 17 & 18? what’s hot and how? will be out next week.

    I was just going to post this question myself–I got my boat out this weekend, and will be heading to Muscatine this coming week. I haven’t heard anything from that area.

    The only thing I’ve heard about Muscatine is that if you want to fish the crowd in the aux. lock, you can catch fish. This came from some guys I talked to on the water at New Boston yesterday.
    I fished New Boston for several hours and came up with one keeper sauger in the middle of the channel. The fish are there somewhere but not in great numbers. The barges are running now so that will play a role in location too. There were a few choice spots that I marked fish but who knows what they were. No takers of my offerings.
    Get down there while you can cause as soon as that snow up north starts melting we are going to have high, swift, and muddy conditions for a while.

    Got out yesterday for a while. Saw a few caught but it was in a very tight area. I, along with several others tried to cover the whole area up thetr and down to the landing and there just wasn’t much happening. I don’t play bumper boat so I went crappie fishing instead. Might go back tuesday.
