Like to introduce myself : New guy

    My name is troy Vinson. I am 30 years old. I presently live in South Beloit Illinois with my wife Valerie and two kids Aidan and Cayle, plus another boy coming in June. Grew up in Rockton, Il fishing the rock river for walleye and smallies. Have had a trailer on Castle Rock Lake since 1986. Fish mostly on Castle Rock spring walleye and crappie,and fall walleye run.
    In October I had a tree stand actually fall off the tree i was standing on and fell 23 feet. broke my neck in two places. Needless to say without all the drama. I am fortunate to be here. I got a encouraging call while I was laid up from Ted Peck. Our conversation really gave me some hope and determination to get back hunting plus do some fishing again. He began to tell me of the great fishing on the Mississippi. Thats how I came here. Now I am addicted to that three hour drive thru southern wisconsin.Thank Ted, I still owe ya a beer!!

    I just got released by the doctor to go back to work last week. Neck is still really sore. I will be fishing as much as possible. looking forward to fishing genoa or Lynxville with the boat ASAP

    I have 3 little ones myself, the newest one is just a week old. I fish pools 9-16, nothing like catching fish on America’s River…

    Welcome, from another River Rat, Troy. When you are in the Genoa area, Stop by the Blackhawk concession stand. I’m usually around there somewhere. When Ted isn’t around to show you the river, maybe I will be. You will love that section of the river.
