Just wondering how everyone did at Lynxville on Sat. I was out and did pretty good. Anyone else? A lot of boats but they were mainly up close to the dam. Any big fish?

I was up there Friday night and it was slow. I did get a big female, but only one. On Saturday I was up there in the afternoon. THe boat traffic was driving me nuts so I went down river and fished the riprap shore in about 16 – 20 fow with nothing to show for my self. Around four pm, I fished a wingdam with slow current with a chartreuse and pepper super doo. I did much better, and lost a real slob! I just could not connnect and land a big female on Sat!

I have an interesting story/question concerning Lynxville. We put the boat in at the Gordon’s Bay landing, across from Falling Rock, at approximately 730am on Sunday. The parking lot was full already, so where to park? The obvious choice was the single car parking area south of the main lot. I, along with many others backed the trailer on the grass area with the truck on the hard surfacing – no damage done. When we got back to the landing to leave, we found a note on our windshield saying this was single car parking only. All of the vehicles appeared to have this. Not sure where this note came from, as it was handwritten. I hope it was no more than a joke, as where could a person have possibly parked a truck and trailer with that many people using the landing. I did notice where someone had parked off the entrance lane closer to the railroad tracks and made deep ruts through the mud, probably an allowable parking spot. I suppose next time I will have to park there and track mud all over the area if we can’t park in the open and unused single car parking. I have no problem paying the ramp fee, but there better be adequate parking without harrassment. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Anyone know how the channel is looking above the dam at Lynxville? Breaking up at all? I have no interest in fishing the aluminum hatch.

Thanks Len. I’m on a mission to find fish away from the dams. I think that there has to be some spawning that goes on in the lower half of good ole’ Lake Weed-a-check! Hopefully make it out to the cabin in the near future, see ya then.
