Let me introduce myself

    My name is Barney Vanderheyden. I live in Stockton, IL. About 7 years ago, I decided there was more to life than working. So, I started fishing. Hadn’t fished for probably 20 years. I really enjoy fishing for walleye. I go to Canada as much as possible, but now have my own boat, and I want to start taking advantage of the fishery at the Mississippi River. I haven’t fished there since I was a kid. A buddy of mine turned me on to this site and I find it very helpful. Just looking forward to learning more about the river. If any of you find yourself looking for a partner for the day, let me know. I would appreciate it. Thank you all for your advice & techniques on fishing the river. VANT

    Welcome VANT!! By my handle, you might just be able to guess where I spend a lot of my time fishing. I grew up just about 12 miles west of you there on HWY 20. I’ve fished the river for almost 40 years, but I haven’t targeted walleyes. Sometimes, I wonder if I’m afraid of their teeth!!

    Welcome VANT! This is the place to be! I fish pool 14 mostly, some on 13 and 16. Learned more here in the last few years than in 30 years of fishing on my own! Maybe we can get out some time this year. Walleyes are what I chase as well.
    Do we know the person who pointed you in our direction?
