was wondering what a good fish finder would be around the $400 range. looking for color and good clarity. gonna mount it on the trolling motor and the bow. Is color the way to go or not. I like lowrance but i am open to anything.

I would Reccomend the Lowrance 102c it is in the $400.00 range and is a very nice unit. Clear as day.

Another vote for the X102c. Retail it’s in the very upper end of the $400 range. If you go to lowrances web page you can download an emulator and play with it to see if you like it. Something to do while waiting for the snow to melt.

Regardless of which unit you go with, make sure to check out Jolly Ann Marine and Outdoor’s web site. I have purchased a few items there and it is always an outstanding transaction. If you live outside of Iowa you can save with no sales tax and I think some of the units have free shipping.

I am not sure about the pros and cons of color and grayscale, but I don’t know that I am missing much with my grayscale LMS-480 ( in my dash ). I do regret not having a combo GPS unit up front. Trying to key in on a rock pile or other type of submerged structure would be alot easier with a combo unit. I think the LMS480 is just under $500 without a transducer or about $40 more with one.

I am saving right now for another LMS-480. I am going to buy it this month…

I also have a 480 on my boat and for structure fishing I prefer the 102 the 480 is a great GPS unit but not much of a sonor.
    just my opinion.

I just got the Eagle Seafinder 500C. I’ve only had it out a couple times, but to this point, I’m really liking it. I use it for my main graph on the console. I wish I had more hours on it to really let you know what I think

No matter what you choose, I suggest Wade at Jolly Ann also. I’ve purchased a lot from him lately and can’t say enough good things about him and the service I recieved. Have fun shopping!!!
