    Smokey, you don’t live too far from my in-laws. They live up by Mt. Tabor on Cty V. Their farm is actually the first one on the left.

    If you are looking for a report from pool 8, I haven’t heard much except for a decent night bite. The # of boats out during the week is low as is the flow and river stage. As I drove by last night it looks like the upper landing is open.

    i live on pool eight! goose island is where its at for summer bass, and some of the trolling in small sloughs can boast some monster walleyes in the hot summer…. Trolling even as shallow as 3 feet of water has produced plenty of walleye in the 18-20 inch range!

    i do alot of catfishing down there,but never really fished for bass down there.got any tips on fishing early season bass around there?

    I fish 8 and 9. Goose Island to Blackhawk park. I get up near Dam #7 occassionally.

    Fish buzzbaits and spinners in Late April through early June, in the shallowest water you can find and you will be very successfull. Last year I landed a 20 inch largemouth in May down there on a spinner in about a foot or two of water. Also, When the weeds and scum get thick, try using Heddon Moss bosses and Northland Jaw-breakers on the top and you will also have success. If you ever see a kid fishing down there with a red bike, or if you see a kid in a white and blue boat with a 5 horse motor, stop me and i will be happy to help out with watever you need.
