Pool 4 COLD DAY 2-17-05

Made it out on the river today.Man was it cold.Fished from 7am-10am.My buddy and I managed three eyes the biggest ran just a tick over 17″.We fished up by the dam and had our best luck in 18 ft of water.The wind started to pick up and made boat control diffucult for this river novice.We had a hard time staying vertical but when we were we got bites.We missed 7 fish today which we chalked up as slack in the line due to not being vertical.This was only my third time fishing the area so its still a learing experience for me.If the wind would have stayed down it would have beeen a nice day.I am looking forward to getting back there Saturday.Oh we were using super doos and ringworms.

Were there many other boats out there with you?

All I have to say is you are very brave It was brutal out today, and I wasn’t on the water. Sure liked to have been though I wish I could find some brave souls around here to fish with when the weather isn’t “perfect”

there was one other boat out with us this morning.and we saw another boat going in as we were taking out.All and all it wasnt that bad out there.Heck im ready for more.If I can handle today I can take on almost any day.Gotta get time on the water to get this jigging thing down.Need to go out when above freezing so I can try casting the shallows.Couldnt do much of that today as the line kept freezing in the guides.

This is driving me nuts listening to you lucky SOB’s that have been out on open water. My boat won’t be ready until Monday, so one more week for me. Keep the reports coming; this is the only thing that helps me from going totally crazy.

Is the fishing at night good out there?

Don’t know about the night fishing.I am a rookie to P4 and fish in the am only.We were out on Thursday and pounded them.Three of us caught 45+ fish in 5 hrs.Not bad for rookies so I would say the bite maust be on. Can’t wait for Sat morning to do it all over again.
