Fished Pool 2 from 5:30 to 8:15 tonight. The action was very good. I was expecting a guy from St Louis to meet me, but his flight was delayed w/ the storms all over the country. So I spent the entire time fishing right at the Hidden Falls ramp. I started literally on top of the ramp and would troll 100 yds or so on the rocks from the ramp to a rain gutter. Trolling fast up river or down w/ a #5 shap rap in 5′ of water I caught over 30 walleye, 1 sauger and 1 smallie. 1/2 of the eyes were over 15″ w/ the largest being 23″.

If you follow the shoreline down from the ramp, there is a shelf of 3-5′ that rises then drops to 8-10′. This is where most of the fish came. Although the nicer fish were spread out along the shore.

Normally I would have felt the need to motor down or up river, just because. But waiting for my partner (who never showed up except in time to buy dinner and beers @ Champps) allowed my to discover a new spot. BTW-I did rub it in pretty good when we finally hooked up.

Sure Dave, give my best spot away…. Our biggest there last summer was a 25.5, that weighed 7lbs. What a beautiful fish!!! I’ve done very well along that shore, then straight across from the landing on the Mpls side up to Minnehaha creek. There are several shelfs along that shore too.

I am in Eagan right off of Diffley and Lexington. I takes just under 20 minutes to Hidden Falls and about 15 minutes to the Lillydale ramp.

I have plans to hit pool 2 tomorrow 6/12 at about 3:30pm and I’ll have to give that spot at try. Geese!!! 30 Walleye in that short of time. Your arms must have got sore from so much reeling. Way To Go Dave!!
