I have to admit that Im proud of my home made plugs. I made some jointed shallow divers and some minnow shallow divers and they worked great. I painted some purple and white and some fire tiger and the purple and white worked best. Five real nice sauger. I used them with a 3oz pencil weight on a three way rig in 16 to 25 ft of water and barely moving. Cant wait to try them some more. The fish were biting real soft with just a slight tug. I had a over sized treble on the back and Im sure that helped.I jigged for a little while but had to go back to my plugs.

How about some photos of these gems? Are you just buying white bodies and painting them? I might have to try more purple cranks this summer. Had a few days last year where it was the go to color.

No photos yet. I made the minnows out of balsa. Two blanks of wood with a wire I formed for the eyes and hook attachments. then glued togeather, sanded to shape, and sealed with poly then painted. The jointed plugs were carved with bass wood. Screw in eyes for hook and line attachments.

My Dad said,They should lock me in the basement and make hundreds to sell. I dont think so. Its fun but not that fun. I lost a few of your plugs,so I guess I can spare a few.

Carving your own plugs. That would be interisting to see. Cant believe I could even get threw carving one and still have all my fingures intack. Would imagine a lot of crankbait companys started the same with what you are doing.
