Ok yeah, typical weatherman, we get closer to the “event” and they change their mind. Well, not too big of a change. The storm looks like it’s gonna form alot farther south, so the snow for folks north of pool 10 looks pretty lean. The temps will still be pretty cold wednesday and beyond, and winds will be 20 to 30 mph wednesday, especially in the morning. I’d still stay off the water, but that’s me. If you’re looking for that big first snow, try next weekend.

It is one of the first big blast of cold weather. Just wondering how this will affect the fishing. Will they really start feed or will they shut down?

It blew like a son of a gun this morning up here. It was cold, good duck weather. Jake, we might have to try a trip to NE SD next fall for some real good duck hunting.

Forecast now looks to be flurries and possible light snow over the next four days here in CR… I’ll keep checking the weather rock and see how it goes.

How was the fishing on 2 today Mike? Going to make it up there on Sunday for a change of pace . I got a boat ride planned with some guy that says “he knows what’s going on up there”! Just wanted to know what I am in for……

Not good for me. one eye today. about 15″. Thinkl thats the smallest one so far this fall. Pitched and pitched and pitched. Old spots. new spots. Tryed jigging for saugers. Trolled jigs on the rip rap. Watched a guy out fish me with fat heads. only by a couple of fish.
All the action was first thing this morning. 1 fish, 2 misses. Not even a tap the rest of the day.
I cant believe this off bite is going to be long lived. Just a off day. One thing I didnt get to try today was hair.
Atleast you will be mostly by yourself up here. Fish included. (just kidding)
If you guys are planning on using the 494 landing make sure you have a back up plan.

How is the water clarity up that way? With the moon almost full, prime time should be turning to the dusk and dawn periods of the day

You can see atleast 1′ deep. The water has cleared up alot in the last week. In the past few weeks some of my best days where bright days. Thats most likely not going to stay true with as clear as the water is getting.

I packed it in about 3 today so didnt get a chance to fish the evening bite. It had to be better than the day bite. Didnt even have a bump after 9 this morning.

Maybe Steve will chime in with a better update on the pool. Wonder if he is hitting the night bite yet?

Look at the great weather coming in for the rest of the week and weekend. That weatherman better not be wrong this time.

I was on pool 2 on Turkey day. It really was kind of different. Saw one other boat all day, didn’t even see any barge traffic-that was really nice. It was a beautiful day but my results were similar to Mike’s. I was on the water by about 6:30 a.m.. After reading Steve’s posts concerning shallow wing dams in the predawn, that is what I targeted. Sure enough, I got two strong hits on a leading shallow dam near shore. Had both fish on for short period of time only to have them come unbuttoned. One can happen, but what was up with two in a row? I checked my jig point and found it to be bent-yikes! I did manage to get a few fish after sunup but the hits were extremely light compared to the aggressive predawn strikes-K grub pearl blue S&P. The few fish I got during the day were on a shortened up ring worm-chartreuse S&P. Water temp was 38.
