Just a quick note about fishing on pool 9 today. Flow was higher than I thought it would be so we hit the backwater sloughs and did some 3-way and bait trolling really super slow in 14-18 feet and caught quite a few saugers but nothing big and only 1 walleye. Water temps were around 53 degrees. Beautiful day out their felt good to get away from the computer and get outdoors.

What boat did ya fish out of today ? I might have seen you today. I ended up releasing a 2# and a 5# walleye plus several saugers. I caught most of my fish pulling cranks near blackhawk.

Green Crestliner 182 Dual Console with 175 Yahama.

I put in at blackhawk. Started pulling cranks on 3-ways just south of their and then ran back into Minnesota Slough a ways. Were you fishing north or south of blackhawk?

Bite is still at three flags and 2 bird house run, culvert to landing run(1/2 way to landing) and point to railroad shack run. Was playing with the smallies again today, so I didn’t see you guys. Really noticed a change to early and late bite this last week at Wisconsin and Mississippi . Bass are still slamming early and late. Lawrence

Not sure which boat you were, I waved at a couple. We had the Weds night Ace Hardware(Big walleye, and big Bass), tourney last night and instead of the blackhawk thing, I stayed where I though I could get on both smallies and eyes in the short 4 hours you get. The keeper sauger were unbelievable last night on the flat in front of the east dam rip rap. I had about six doubles and and only four runs in three hours without a fish, going both directions!!!!!!!! This is the third time this spring that has happened. If you pull in there and run south to north two times and there are no hits move on, cause they are either there and biting, or not. Threeways with cranks again. Missed first place by 1/10th ouch. Smallies were a different story. Although I only made about 50 casts in two places sub-legals were all I could get, and I went back to the threeway fun. Best colors were firetiger, firetiger , and firetiger. Clown was a distant second, and for the first time in a long time perch only boated one fish. Two ounce bell sinker is plenty, but move up to three if you like a little bit more direct connected feeling.(the sinker doesn’t loft as much). Lawrence Ecklor
