Nobody likes the weatherman, but I have to speak up today about the storm coming up tuesday, and lasting through thursday am. It will bring rain and snow, with some impressive snows falling over IA and WI, but for us outdoor folks along pools 19 through 10 (and farther north), the big factor will be wind and cold. Simply, don’t go out on the water Wednesday, the winds will be north around 35mph with gusts around 50. That, and temps will be crashing down into the 20s during the day, accompanied by snow showers. The winds will last in the 20 to 35mph range through thursday morning as temps fall into the lower to mid teens. If folks want colder waters, you’re in luck, the cold snap will last for around a week I think.

Tight lines, but from fish on the end, not because you fished in the freezing weather wednesday and thursday!

Thanks for the “heads up” concerning Wednesday. I was considering taking Wednesday off of work to go fishing. I don’t like the thought out being out with 30-40 mph winds.

    Oh man Andy,

If I had known we had a weatherman here, you would have gotten an ear full a long time ago. Just kidding!! I’m sure you’ve heard all the jokes, so I won’t raz you about them.

Thanks for the heads up! I was toying with the idea of heading up to Mille Lacs for the full moon bite on Wednesday or Thursday night.

I’m definately planning on fishing Wednesday now…if a weatherman says its going to be bad weather you can be assured it will be in the 60’s! Ha ha, just kidding! Bring on the nasty stuff!

Ducks will be flying, for sure…may need to put the fishing plans on hold and head into some sheltered slough to wait for what flys past.

    Quack-Quack!

Actually, a nice warm and cozy couch, with my little sons running around the room rasing Kane; as the heavenly aroma of roast bird and apple pie fills my old farm house, seems like a much safer and enjoyable option til the weather clears out.

    Bring it on!

I will welcome the cold weather right now. Wisconsin rifle opener was today and I don’t like walking with 3 inches of mud on my boots(to much like work ) Also gotta get nasty if we are ever to get any ice to fish on. So let it snow, let it snow, let it snow……….
