I haven’t been out with these high river flows. I’m guessing the fishing might be tough with this wild weather, but I could be wrong. Hope to get out this weekend. We could use some warm, stable weather.

    Hey Dave,

Are you fishing Pool 16 or 17 or both. I live in the area but have never fished Pool 17, mostly 14,15,16. Are the bass moving near their spawning areas or are they still pretty deep? Thanks

Crappies are also biting. I caught a few this past weekend.

    Big E,

Are you in 16 or 17?

I’ve been fishing 16 — backwaters with some depth and flooded brush. I would guess the crappies would be biting down in 17 as well.

I fish 18 & 19 . The bass we caught last week have not spawned . They are getting pretty close tho I would say . The females hit well and were heavy with eggs . If the water stays up we should have a great spawn down here.

Crappies and bass are getting close to spawning up on 16 as well. Still catching plenty of females with eggs, and I caught a couple of males of late that looked like its tail had some wear and tear — maybe starting to build a nest. We’ll see what this cold front does to them. If only we had some stable weather…
