I’m curious if anyone is out fishing pool 14 this week. I know with the rain that we have had the past week that the river has risen around one and half feet and is sure to have become quite murky. I have not been out on this pool for three weeks. The last time out the weeds were so thick below the dam on the Iowa side that it was next to impossible to fish other than vertical jigging. I did manage to pick up a few decent walleye and saugers using superdoo’s and ringworms. Thanks.

I’ve not been out for a week or so, but plan to give it a go on Thursday if weather cooperates. I’ll post Friday if I do get out! Hopefully the grass will be gone, or at least manageable!

Well, with the 30+ mph wind and the barometer on the rise, I decided to wait until tommorrow to hit the water. I’ll probably only have a few hours in late afternoon to fish, so I am thinking pitching jigs will be high on the list of presentations!

By the way, welcome to the site gass11!

    Rooster,

That was probably a good decision to wait until tomorrow to go out. The wind seems to be getting worse as the day goes along. It looks like Friday should be a decent day to fish. I may try to get out in the early morning for a few hours. Pitching ringworms, k-tails, and sassy shads is what I will be doing. I will post a report when I return home. By the way, thanks for the welcome.

Hey Rooster! Sorry about all that wind, I probably could have posted something the other day to give you more a headsup. We are looking for continued rather windy weather friday and saturday…west winds 10 to 20. Sunday looks to be the best of all worlds coming up, partly sunny-west winds 5 to 10, and 60s. Friday and Saturday will be warmer, but those winds scare me. Good luck out there guys!

Andy, I like to hear of a West wind. Usually a good thing. Mostly north or east a bear, and south, while good for fishing in theory, makes for a rough ride. West is best in my book! Thanks for the headsup. I can’t fish this weekend, gotta work , unless I get out for a couple hours after work, or fish in the dark! Hey, that’s not a bad idea !
