lead core trolling

    Has anyone tried trolling with lead yet in the Red Wing, Lake Pepin area?

    I trolled on friday with lead and a #9 clown shad. I got one nice walleye in front of baypoint. I think most fish are still hitting live bait, but we have got a few fish in the last week lead lining.

    We were pulling lead core down by the head of the lake catching some decent fish with Salmo floating bullhead in 17 – 20 ft.

    Its still a little early with the water temp bumping around in the high 40’s. We usally dont start with the lead till the water is over 50.

    A few days with some nice weather for a change would be perfict.
