Clear skies,no wind, close to full moon phase, could not pass that combination up this evening. On the water about 530pm went to a favorite wingdam, started with hair jigs. Fished deep at first, than went shallow, 5, 12-14 inch walleyes. Not what I was looking for, switched to a k-grub, salt and pepper glitter, name escapes me, same results 4 small walleyes, but the strikes were very agressive. The last 2 years reading James reports of shallow bite, and plastics, that is what I did. Went to a rip rap area, and began working the shoreline. Same k-grub, and a 1/4 oz H2O jig. Three consecutive casts, 3, 18 inch walleye in the boat, for the next hour and a half I worked a 5-6 hundred foot section of the shoreline, casting into 2 foot of water and working the jig back into 4-6 foot of water. Some of the casts were no more than 15 feet from the boat, and the strikes were agressive. Caught 13 walleye working that shoreline, 2, 24 inch walleye, released, and 11, 18-20 inch walleyes. The conditions were just about perfect, this was one great evening on the water.
