I have been fishing alot around hoksola campground for the past month and have been doing pretty good on eyes. The past week or so we cant find any eyes, just saugers. Do the walleyes in pepin move upstream towards the dam this time of year? Thanks in advance for any replies.

The lake will hold plenty of eyes. Some will move up in to the river but not all of them will migrate out of the lake.

How deep are you fishing? This time of the year when I get walleye on the lake it is in less than 8′ of water. Casting cranks or jigs to the shorelines is a good way to go right now for the eyes

We have been fishing 6′-8′ deep while trolling crankbaits. Last time out we got some cats, carp and northern all on #5 raps or storm deep jr thundersticks. I will try to throw some cranks to the shore and see what happens. Thanks for the info!!

There’s actually some pretty good ice action on the walleyes right around Lake City and point further south during first ice. So they’re still around.
